Dr. Michael Scherzer took over the intellectual property and technical management department at Crebonit Coatings Ltd. in Salzburg, Austria on August 1st, 2020. He will be the lead coordinator for the laboratory, development, quality management and production in the corporate group. In addition, his responsibilities include technical and legal affairs concerning the product portfolio.
Dr. Scherzer studied chemistry and earned his master’s degree (crystal structures of nickel- and cobalt metallorganics) at the University of Technology Graz in 2012. Afterwards he moved to Berlin, where he worked at the renowned Fritz-Haber-Institute of the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft as well as the University of Technology Berlin. His research there focused on developing and characterizing reactive catalytic surfaces for sustainable energy conversion, e.g. water splitting. His next step into the chemical industry brought him back to Austria, to the VTA group where he was the lead scientist; responsible for technical product development in environmental engineering applications.
In addition to his passion for chemistry, photography and hiking, Dr. Scherzer is a long-time member of the Austrian Chemical Society as well as the international Georg Friedrich Händel Association.
